LINEAGE by Magida El-Kassis is both a photo study and typology of people who consider themselves of pure ethnicity.

These photographs serve as a form of preservation for future generations to look back and view the similarities and differences that each ethnic group possessed before integration proceeds even further.

The dresses fabricated by Wesley Kirschner are born of her imagination. She works with glass, newsprint, and piano wire to build an art piece to be photographed. By placing each dress in context, she allows the viewer to momentarily forget about the fashion and creates a setting and image that could be an editorial page in any fashion magazine. It is through this vision and imagination that she creates a visual metaphor for the fashion industry.

SPAO student Shaun Robinson is showcasing pieces of his ongoing series "Street Style" at Canteen Art Shop and Gallery for the month February. Come check out his work as well as other up and coming artists. The opening is February 5th at 7PM.
